SPAGETTI

Spaghetti is a popular type of pasta that is long, thin, and cylindrical, originally from Italy. Made from durum wheat semolina and water, it is usually about 1.5 to 2.5 millimeters thick. Cooked until “al dente,” meaning firm to the bite, spaghetti is often served with tomato-based sauces, meat sauces, or simple olive oil and garlic. The name “spaghetti” means “little strings” in Italian, and it is enjoyed in many dishes worldwide

INGREDIENTS

  • Spaghetti noodles-250 gram. You can use as you needed
  • Water for cooking pasta
  • 3 teaspoon of oil
  • 1-2 teaspoon of salt- Or as required
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • 1 chopped carrot
  • 1 chopped capsicum
  • 2 chopped tomato
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1-2 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2-1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup soaked and peeled almonds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds(optional)
  • You can add chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.
Preparation time-20 minutes Cooking time-35-40minutes

RECIPE

1.Cooking Pasta

In a pot add hot water , 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of oil and add the spaghetti noodles. Cook until soft. Drain and set aside.

2.Making Sauce

  • In a separate pan, add 2 teaspoon of oil, then add chopped onion and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Then add 1 chopped carrot and sauté for another 1-2 minutes. Add 1tablespoon of water and cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add 1 chopped capsicum, 2 chopped tomato and sauté well and cover and cook until the vegetables are soft.
  • Once cooked let it cooldown
  • Once cooled transfer into a blender and add soaked and peeled almonds, 2 tbs of water and blend well.

3. Cooking and mixing the Sauce

  • In the same pan add 1-2 tsp of oil
  • Then add the ground coriander, mixed herbs, garam masala, ground turmeric, black pepper, salt and chili powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti noodles to the pan and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the masala/ sauce.
  • Cover and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your Indian-style spaghetti!

STORAGE
